A Kenyan-born American, Mary calls Columbus, Ohio home. She graduated from Ohio University in 2008 with a Masters of Arts in International Studies, along with graduate certificates in Health Policy, and Women & Gender Studies. In 2010, Mary started her journey in non-profit management at Physicians CareConnection, where she was responsible for coordinating healthcare and social services for vulnerable individuals in Central Ohio. This experience gave her a profound appreciation for how non-profit agencies participate in improving healthcare delivery and advancing quality of life especially for people with limited access to care. Mary joined Health Impact Ohio equipped with experience in care coordination, project management, program implementation & evaluation, quality improvement, data analysis, personnel development, grant management, and partnership engagement. In her spare time, Mary volunteers in various capacities in her community, including being a board member for the Columbus Refugee and Immigration Services (CRIS). Mary enjoys spending time with her daughter Imani, while travelling and experimenting on different recipes in the kitchen.
