Kurt Lewis

Kurt Lewis was appointed the CEO and President for UnitedHealthcare’s Employer & Individual operations throughout Ohio in April of 2016. His current responsibilities encompass health plan strategic initiatives and business operations that include sales, marketing, network contracting, medical programs, community relations, product management and finance.

Kurt is a life-long resident of Ohio who grew up in Cuyahoga Falls, a suburb of Akron. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in business administration and began his health insurance career in Columbus more than 30 years ago. Kurt has held various leadership positions within UnitedHealthcare beginning in 1999. Before taking the CEO position in Ohio, Kurt was the Executive Director for UnitedHealthcare in the Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky markets focusing on small business, key accounts, sales and account management.

He is involved in many community organizations, including The Health Collaborative – Greater Cincinnati, Health Collaborative of Greater Columbus, Ohio Business Roundtable, Ohio Diversity Council, Ohio Association of Health Plans, American Heart Association Men Go Red, Cincinnati Regional Business Committee and First Tee. Kurt and his wife Julie have two children, living in the Cincinnati area since moving there with the company in 2006.

There are more than two million lives covered under health care products offered through UnitedHealthcare that are being served by over 4,500 UnitedHealth Group employees in Ohio. UnitedHealthcare has a network of 254 hospitals and more than 47,000 physicians and other care providers for members to access in the state.
